We load at the farm gate, where there is no dock and the last few kilometres are laterite. The liftgate and the tires deal with that. The box holds temperature through a 32 degree afternoon, which is the whole job. Half the food Ghana grows never gets eaten, and this is the part of that problem a truck can actually fix.

Every T5DM and T5EV is covered for 24 months or 100,000 km, whichever comes first, and serviced by our team in Tema.

Cover starts on the day the truck is delivered or first used, whichever comes first, and ends at the time or distance shown, whichever comes first. Parts repaired or replaced under warranty are covered for the rest of the original period.

Taking care of the battery

All lithium batteries lose some capacity with time and use. That gradual loss is normal and is covered only if state of health falls below 70 percent within the period. Battery cover does not apply to damage from:

  • Leaving the battery at zero charge for long periods
  • Physical damage, or any attempt to shorten its life
  • Fire, or immersing the battery in water or other fluids
  • Opening the battery case, or service by anyone other than ChainX or an approved technician
  • Corrosive chemicals, or extreme heat or cold for more than 24 hours
  • Charging with incompatible equipment or the wrong procedure

Not covered

  • Parts that wear with use: tires, brake pads, wiper blades, bulbs, fuses, filters, coolant, refrigerant, oils and fluids
  • Routine servicing and adjustments
  • Accidents, collisions, theft, vandalism, fire or explosion from outside causes
  • Floods, storms, lightning and other natural events
  • Overloading beyond the 4,495 kg gross vehicle weight, racing or other misuse
  • Repairs, changes or parts not made or approved by ChainX
  • Normal noises, vibration, small dents, scratches and paint chips
  • Glass damage, unless caused by a defect
  • Damage from driving on after a fault appears, or reporting it late
  • Trucks with an altered VIN or odometer, or written off by an insurer

Keeping your cover

  • Service the truck at ChainX Tema or an approved workshop on the schedule in your handbook
  • Keep your service records in the ChainX app, including dates and mileage
  • Use genuine parts and the specified refrigerant
  • Follow any recall notice from ChainX or BYD
  • Stop driving and contact us as soon as a fault appears

Making a claim

  • Tell us. Message our service team on WhatsApp with your truck and the fault.
  • We check it. Bring the truck to Tema, or we arrange an inspection, and confirm what’s covered.
  • We fix it. Covered repairs are done at no cost for parts or labor. We repair, or replace with a new or reconditioned part, at our choice.

If you sell the truck, the remaining cover passes to the next owner at no cost.

Limits of this warranty

This limited warranty is the only warranty ChainX gives on the truck and replaces all other warranties, written or implied, to the extent the law allows. ChainX is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost income, spoiled cargo or downtime. This page is a summary. Your purchase agreement sets out the full terms and the law that applies. Its structure follows BYD’s limited warranty for new energy vehicles, with periods set for trucks sold by ChainX in Ghana.

Quotes, reservations and deposits

A quote is valid for the period stated on it. Sending a request through this site or WhatsApp does not create an order.

An order is confirmed only when you sign a purchase agreement and we receive your deposit, normally 30 percent of the agreed price. The balance is due when your truck is built and before it ships. Deposit refunds, delivery dates and all other terms are set out in your purchase agreement, which takes priority over this website.

Test drives

You must hold a valid driving licence for the vehicle class, show it before driving, and follow our staff’s instructions. A ChainX representative rides with you. You are responsible for traffic offences during the drive. We may decline or end a test drive for safety reasons.

Chargers and installation

Every truck comes with a charger. Installation is not included and is quoted after a site survey. You are responsible for providing a safe, adequate electrical supply and any permits your site needs, unless your installation quote says otherwise.

Warranty

Trucks carry the ChainX limited warranty described on our Warranty page. Your purchase agreement sets out the full warranty terms.

Our brand and content

The ChainX name, the CX mark, logos, photos and text on this site belong to ChainX or are used with permission. You may not copy or use them without our written consent. BYD and other product names belong to their owners.

This site uses necessary cookies and, with your consent, Google Analytics and Google advertising cookies. How we use the information collected is explained in our Privacy policy and Cookies notice. You can change your choice at any time in Cookie settings.

Links to other services

Buttons on this site open WhatsApp, which is run by WhatsApp LLC under its own terms and privacy policy. Google provides our analytics, advertising measurement and fonts under its own terms. We are not responsible for other services.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, ChainX is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of this website, including lost income or business. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Ghanaian consumer law.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms by posting a new version here. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, and the courts of Ghana have jurisdiction.

Privacy policy

This policy explains how ChainX, of Tema, Ghana, collects and uses personal information, in line with Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).

What we collect

When you request a quote, book a test drive or reserve a truck, the details you enter are placed in a WhatsApp message that you choose to send us:

  • Name, company, phone or WhatsApp number and email address
  • City or region, number of trucks, model, body and options you are interested in
  • Preferred test drive date and time slot, and any notes you add

We also receive anything you send us in WhatsApp, by email or in person. This website does not ask for payment details.

Analytics and cookies

With your consent, we use Google Analytics and Google advertising services on this website. They collect information about your visit, such as the pages you view, how long you stay, the links you click, your device, browser and operating system, the site that referred you, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. We use this to understand how the site is used, improve it, and measure and target our advertising. Google processes this information for us and may transfer it to the United States and other countries. You can accept, refuse or change these cookies at any time in Cookie settings; see our Cookies notice.

How we use it

  • To prepare quotes, book test drives and process orders
  • To arrange charger site surveys, installation, delivery, registration and warranty service
  • To contact you about your request, and with your consent, about new trucks and offers
  • To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations
  • With your consent, to measure how the website is used and how our advertising performs

Who we share it with

We share only what is needed with the truck manufacturer and body builder, shipping and clearing agents, the Ghana Revenue Authority and DVLA for clearance and registration, insurers or lenders you choose, and our installation and service partners. We also share website usage information with Google for analytics and advertising when you consent. Some of these partners are outside Ghana, including in China and the United States. We do not sell your personal information.

WhatsApp messages are handled by WhatsApp LLC under its own privacy policy.

How long we keep it

We keep quote and test drive requests for up to 24 months, and Google Analytics data for up to 14 months, and order and warranty records for as long as the law and your warranty require.

Security

We limit access to your information to staff and partners who need it and take reasonable steps to protect it.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, ask us to delete it, object to marketing at any time, or withdraw consent to analytics and advertising cookies in Cookie settings. Contact us as below. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.
